Every legend has a beginning. Before the monumental Opera Only and the dark precision of DarkBlock, there was the inaugural spark: Opera One.

Created in 1998, Opera One marks the genesis of Andrea Pivetta's philosophy—the precise moment where the boundary between rigorous high-fidelity engineering and kinetic sculpture dissolved. It is the foundational pillar upon which his entire four-decade legacy of audio art is built.

THE EARLY FOUNDATIONS (1983–1988)

Andrea Pivetta’s obsession with sound began long before his first full-scale sculpture. His journey through engineering mastery includes these pivotal milestones:

• 1983 (Age 12): First steps in repairing and modifying vintage RCF equipment.

• 1985 (Age 14): Design and construction of a custom 6 x 200 Watt multi-channel system.

• 1988 (Age 17): Pushing power boundaries with a massive 4,000 Watt power amplifier.

KINETIC ARCHITECTURE

Dormant, Opera One is a monolithic cylinder weighing 450 kg (992 lbs). Upon activation, internal actuators cause the crimson heat sink panels to tilt outward, expanding the unit from 1.10 m to a towering 2.00 meters. This transformation reveals the core of the machine: 60 Kendeil capacitors and massive 8 kW transformers—a world-first in kinetic audio engineering.
